My name is Christa Flanagan, last time i saw my dad was 1986. I am 40 now, i have never married incase he was looking for me also. Well, i found out my dad passed on my birtjdsy of this year! My birthday is in Jjune and we didnt find out until Sept. I am just curious what rank he held in the Army and the AirForce. I have been reading about all the medals and badges he was awarded during his services to our country. I know i have to be just like him, because im like noone else in the family, and i cam just feel it. I want to see pictures and hear stories and what not. I feel like my last name means nothing simce hes gone and my purpose in life is no longer.... Im vary sad about not getting to find him amd spend time with him! Im heartbroken because, rumor has it, his wife kept him from me. She also kept his passing from me. I didnt even get to go to his funeral, he never got to meet my kids. Theyve heard me talk about him all their lives!! Does anyone have any stories or rank info or photos theyd like to share with me ?? Im beghing. Hes my hero

Christa, I would look up the local County Veteran Service Officer. Since you are his daughter you can request his records through NPRC. You can do it on your own online at https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records

Wish I could have known your dad and been able to make this reply and tell you all about him. Sadly I just want you to know you will meet him someday because of the love you have in your heart. No doubt he would have been very proud of you. I'm sure that if I had known your dad I would have liked him if he was anything like you. God Bless
