Hi all - I am looking for shipmates for my dad, Allan Strickland. He has given me several names of his buddies from when he served on the USS Cambria in the late 60's. I am looking for Larry Otting, Glen Hersteck, and John Sears. I would love to hear from anyone that knows how I can get in touch with these friends. It would mean so much to my dad. My Dad recently passed and his military history has always been one of mystery. He never shared any of it. I am searching all corners to find out more as my heart can't stop missing him and I'm trying to connect. From his DD214, I know he was in NMCB-7 and did 2 deployments to Vietnam, one in 1968-69 and another in 1969-70. I am desperately searching for information, photos, or perhaps someone that might've known him. His photo in my profile photo. My Dad, Rusty, was from Mechanicville, NY, and served as an EO-3. Looking for any help or contact to anyone that might have known him. Please share and reach out if you can help. Thank you.

Wanted to let everyone know that Dad passed away April 2024. He was going to turn 99 that year. All he ever talked about in his last days was his time in the navy on LST 911.

The 2026 USS Dewey Reunion Association is holding their annual reunion from October 12 to October 17, 2026 in Jacksonville Fl. There is a full week of events planned from our Dewey Memorial to a Cookout to celebrating the Navy's Birthday and a Banquet on the last day. Members from all years that Dewey sailed the High Seas are in attendance.

Hey..I don't know if you remember me but I was on the Kitty Hawk CV-63 from 1980-1984.I was in S-2 Division and mainly worked as part of the break out crew but sometimes usually during the Holidays ( Thanksgiving, Christmas) I worked in the Galley. Do you remember LT.Reyes our Division Officer at the time? I've been trying to contact him, let me know if you have any info or if you just want to chat and talk about old times on the shitty kitty is fine..that would be nice catching up on things and how our lives have been since then.
