Hi everyone, this may be a long shot, but I’m researching my grandfather, Earl K. Stehlin, and would love to connect with anyone who may have known him or has suggestions on where to look. Earl was born in 1930 in New Jersey and lived in Germany as a child before returning to the U.S. in 1946. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948, served during the Korean War era, and later served in Austria with U.S. Forces Austria / USAREUR. He was connected to Salzburg, Austria in the 1950s, around the time of the Austrian State Treaty and Operation Dismount in 1955. I’m especially interested in anything related to his time in Korea, Germany, Austria, Salzburg, U.S. Forces Austria, USAREUR, Operation Dismount, or any unit histories/photos from that period. I’d also be grateful for any memories, yearbooks, rosters, or ideas for veteran groups or archives that may have more information. Thank you so much. This is personal family research, and even a small lead would mean a lot.

Hello. This is a longshot, but I am seeking information for my dad who served as a Fire Control Operator for the HAWK missile system in 1972, Babenhausen, Germany. If there are others in this group who served in the same unit and at the same duty station, do you recall being put on high-alert during the Munich terrorist attack. If so, can you please reach out to me! Thank you!

Hey..I don't know if you remember me but I was on the Kitty Hawk CV-63 from 1980-1984.I was in S-2 Division and mainly worked as part of the break out crew but sometimes usually during the Holidays ( Thanksgiving, Christmas) I worked in the Galley. Do you remember LT.Reyes our Division Officer at the time? I've been trying to contact him, let me know if you have any info or if you just want to chat and talk about old times on the shitty kitty is fine..that would be nice catching up on things and how our lives have been since then. Take care everyone..and hope you are all in good health.

I’m trying to locate a friend. We were in the Mobile Riverine Force in 1968. Company B, 4/47 division 9th Infantry Division . I do not remember his name ( though I’d never forget anyone in the platoon, the forth). I have a photograph but I need to work on how to post it in a message. My best guess for a name is O’Neil. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am looking for a little support in my current claim concerning the new “PACT act”. I served at this FOB for a year and a half during OIF 3. I could really use a buddy statement in support of my claims. If anyone fits the bill please reach out. Thank you and god bless you.

I flew helicopter gunships for 1/9 First Cav Div in 1968. My call sign was Saber Red 28. I fought through the Tet Offensive, A Shau Valley and Khe Sahn. We were stationed at LZ Evans. I have written a book titled "First Tour" which is available on my website: davidhardmanauthor.com. If you visit my website you will also be able to access a YouTube interview that I did for the Memphis Tennessee library system in 2025 with George Larimore. I had given up on life many times over the last 40 years but I persevered and as a result I have been blessed with the opportunity to be published author. Whether you by my book or not is okay but give my website a chance.
