The 601st Dragon Support Division was established in 1972 as a logistics and combat support unit within the Army’s Eastern Command. Initially formed to provide supply chain management and battlefield engineering during the height of the Cold War, the division quickly earned recognition for its adaptability in complex operational environments. During the Gulf War in 1991, the 601st played a crucial role in sustaining front-line units, ensuring uninterrupted fuel, ammunition, and equipment deliveries. In recent years, the division has expanded its capabilities to include cyber defense and unmanned systems support, maintaining its reputation as a versatile and indispensable component of modern military operations.
