524TH MILITARY INTELLIGENCE BATTALION

Joined Army at 17. Basic/AIT was at Fort Knox, KY as 19D. Assigned to Fort Benning, GA to A/15 CAV, redesignated to D/4 CAV in 1989. (Interestingly, if you look closely at the Basic Training Group photo, my unit was D/6 CAV but the guidon has D/4. It was the only one they had at the time of the photo. It was like a prophecy for my first active duty unit!) Reenlisted as 97B. Went to Fort Huachuca, AZ for 6 months of MI training. Assigned to A CO/524th MI BN, Uijuanbu, South Korea (Camp Red Cloud) from 1990-1992. Army overstaffed so I elected to ETS in 1992. Reserves as MI instructor until 2001. Trained as a civilian paramedic and served from 2007 to 2023 as EMS Director in Lee and Chatham County. Now preaching at a small country church, Campus Pastor at a small Christian school where I also teach Bible to Juniors and Seniors. Married to my wife for 22 years, who is a retired Army Nurse Colonel, 30 years of service, who still serves as an NP at the VA.
