The 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment (4/6th Infantry) has a distinguished history within the United States Army, tracing its lineage back to its original formation in 1812. The unit saw extensive combat during World War II and the Vietnam War, earning numerous campaign streamers and commendations for its valor and effectiveness in battle. During the Cold War, 4/6th Infantry was stationed in Germany as part of the U.S. Army Europe, playing a key role in NATO defense.
