The 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment (2/4 IN) is a distinguished unit within the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) of the United States Army. Originally constituted in 1808, the regiment has served in numerous conflicts, including the Civil War, World Wars I and II, Vietnam, and the Global War on Terrorism. As part of the 10th Mountain Division, 2/4 IN has deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, conducting combat operations and supporting stability missions. The unit is renowned for its adaptability, resilience, and commitment to the Army’s values, embodying the division’s motto: “Climb to Glory.”
