The 2nd Battalion, 104th Field Artillery Regiment (2/104 FA) traces its lineage to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in the early 20th century. The unit served with distinction during both World Wars, providing critical fire support in major campaigns such as the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in World War I and the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns in World War II. Throughout the Cold War and into the 21st century, 2/104 FA has continued its tradition of excellence, participating in both domestic emergency responses and overseas deployments, including Operation Iraqi Freedom. Today, the battalion remains a vital component of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, upholding a proud legacy of service and commitment to both state and nation.
