U.S. Army Active Duty (2000 - 2007)
I am Staff Sergeant Dustin C. Enockson, and my Army Aviation career began in 2000 when I enlisted on Active Duty as a 15G Airframe Structural Repairer. I started out with D Co., 2-101st Airborne Division from 2000 to 2004, which included a combat deployment to Iraq from 2003 to 2004, followed by a tour in South Korea with the 602nd ASB at Camp Stanley (2004–2005), and then a move to the 277th ASB at Fort Drum, New York, where I deployed to FOB Salerno, Afghanistan from 2006 to 2007. After leaving active duty in March 2007, I joined the North Dakota Army National Guard that July, with A Co., 1-112th S&S Bn. In 2009, I caught a great break and landed a full-time Military Technician job at the Bismarck Army Aviation Support Facility working as a UH-60 A/L/M Aircraft Mechanic—a position I still proudly hold today. I reclassed at EAATS in Pennsylvania in 2009, officially becoming a UH-60 Crew Chief in 2011 when I transferred to C Co., 2-285th. Serving as an NCO and Crew Chief with this unit, I have since completed two more major deployments: an overseas mission to Kosovo (2013–2014) and a stateside mobilization to the Military District of Washington, D.C. at Fort Belvoir (2020–2021).
