The 465th Bomb Wing was a unit of the United States Air Force, initially established during the Cold War era. Activated in the 1950s, the wing was assigned to Strategic Air Command and equipped with B-47 Stratojet bombers for long-range strategic bombing missions. The 465th participated in various training exercises and readiness operations, contributing to America's nuclear deterrence posture. The unit was inactivated in the late 1950s as part of the Air Force's reorganization and phase-out of the B-47 fleet.
