The 18th Security Forces Squadron, stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, traces its origins back to the establishment of the 18th Air Police Squadron in 1948. Over the decades, the unit has played a crucial role in providing force protection, law enforcement, and security operations for the largest U.S. Air Force installation in the Pacific. The squadron has supported numerous contingencies and operations in the Indo-Pacific region, ensuring the safety of personnel and resources during times of peace and conflict. Today, the 18th Security Forces Squadron continues its legacy as a premier security force, upholding the mission readiness of the 18th Wing and its partners.
