Clarence (Tick) Craver
Served active duty May 1968-Feb. 1972. I lived in Cape May County in New Jersey from birth until 2012 except when I was in the Navy. I became a union carpenter in local 1743 New Jersey carpenters, which is now local 255 Eastern Atlantic Carpenters. I retired in 2004. I went to Dennis Twp. Elementary School, Middle Twp. High School. One semester at Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ. My training in the Navy was for aviation fire technician working on aviation electronics. Unfortunately, I worked out of my trained role most of the time I was in the Navy. After schooling I was sent to NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, Va. I was put in a training squadron, VA42 Framp. I remained there over a year working in an administrative job. For some reason they kept me there longer than I should have been there. Next, I was sent to VA35 squadron. Again, sent to work out of my trained job. First, I worked in the tool distribution job for some months, then I was sent to the airframes dept. of the squadron to work in corrosion control. I remained in that dept. for all but the last couple of months of my active duty. Because of having not worked in my trained dept. I only made it to E4 where most of the men made it to E5. I got married in 1970 to my high school sweetheart as they say. We have been married 56 years so far. I had two children. They both live here in Tn., close by. I am filling in this information now at 77 years old. Would love to hear from some that remember me.
