U.S. Marine Corps

The USMC stands for the United States Marine Corps. It is a branch of the United States Armed Forces responsible for providing power projection from the sea, using the mobility of the U.S. Navy to rapidly deliver combined-arms task forces. The USMC is known for its training, discipline, and elite status as a fighting force, often being called upon for rapid response missions and expeditionary operations. The Marine Corps is made up of highly skilled and dedicated individuals who uphold the values of honor, courage, and commitment.

Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina, was officially established as a Marine training facility in 1915 and has since become one of the most iconic sites for Marine Corps recruit training. During World War I and World War II, the depot played a pivotal role in training hundreds of thousands of Marines for combat. Over the decades, Parris Island has been the primary training location for all enlisted male Marines east of the Mississippi River and for all female Marine recruits nationwide. The depot’s storied legacy is marked by its rigorous training regimen and its lasting contribution to shaping generations of United States Marines.

Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 314 (VMFA-314), known as the "Black Knights," was originally commissioned in 1943 during World War II, flying F4U Corsairs in the Pacific Theater. The squadron has since participated in major conflicts including the Korean War, Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and the Global War on Terror. Over the decades, VMFA-314 has transitioned through several aircraft, most notably the F-4 Phantom II and the F/A-18 Hornet. In 2019, VMFA-314 became the first operational Marine Corps squadron to transition to the F-35C Lightning II, marking a new era of advanced capabilities for the unit.
