The 4th Security Police Squadron (SPS) K9 unit was a specialized segment of the United States Air Force Security Police, assigned to the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina. Established during the Cold War, the 4th SPS K9 unit utilized military working dogs to provide enhanced base security, perimeter defense, and detection capabilities against intruders and explosives. The 18th Wing is a United States Air Force unit based in Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. It is one of the largest and most diverse wings in the Air Force, responsible for a variety of missions including air and space control, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, combat search and rescue, and humanitarian assistance.
