It was first activated in 1917 during World War I and has since participated in numerous conflicts, including World War II, the Korean War, and the Iraq War. The division is known for its iconic Indian head patch and motto of "Bayonet Division." Today, the 7th Infantry Division remains a key element of the US Army's force structure and is ready to deploy in support of national security objectives.
