The government says I'm a Vietnam veteran. I did serve from '72-'80 but I did not see combat or serve in country. If serving between '65 and '75 classifies everyone as a Vietnam Vet then why the separation by the word era? Am I? Aren't I?

No you did not serve in the country. You are considered a Vietnam Era Veteran. Only those who were in the Country ARE Vietnam Vets and deserve the title.

Served at DaNang AB South Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. Not sure of the spelling but he was from the Northern US. Would really like to contact him. We were in the 366 Security Police Squadron at DaNang.
